Blog Trouble - a long lost update

So we've been having some blog trouble lately... the main trouble being a major lack of updates!

What have we been doing? Well Ed has been to Ireland... a quality week away! Stayed out there with Lyndon and Cotty also being put up by Tom Butler. I had a brilliant time out there, having super fun waves, not as good as forecast but still a lot better than home! Check out the video:

Since then it's just been training at home... a spot of coaching with Joel Gray at surf solutions. There have been a few good swells here at home but not the best winter. Could this spring bring us some good swells? The current charts aren't looking very promising...

And then it was off to France for Ed to compete in the Volcom VQS comp. Super fun waves, with one world class day. We're gutted we didn't have anyone to film/shoot on these days! In the comp Ed made the quarter finals, narrowly missing the semi's in the last 10 seconds. Overall it was a top quality trip and we both look forward to heading back out there in the near future!

Between all of that it has been filming... the project seems to be coming along nicely! Hopefully we will have a website and all sorts of surprises up for you all to see soon! How exciting!

We both have a couple of new NT Surfboards which are going really quite well... Shaped by Nathan Tummon, who hasn't been shaping long but has a hell of a lot of talent! Watch this space for video's and photo's on the new boards!

Anyway, hopefully you've all been having as much fun as we have! Summer is upon us...

Lanza vid!

Lanzarote seems so far away right now, as its starting to snow and freeze over the whole of the UK. We have had no water at home for 2 days, so finally we have managed to put the video together! Big thanks to George Martin for editing it and Big Fat Kev for filming everyday in lanza! Hope this warms you all up a bit! Cheers Jak and Ed :)

Lanzarote!

So we have returned from Lanzarote. A really fun trip! We didn't score any epic waves but had consistent waves every day, 2 or 3 surfs a day and in a lot warmer water than home! Had a few slip ups with the camera (out of focus etc.) but still got a few clips, and we are currently throwing together a little video of the trip. It will be out in the coming week. A post with some pictures will also be up in the next day or 2! Keep your eyes peeled!

Oh, and happy new year! 2012, yew!

Fun waves at home!

So had some real fun waves at home over the last couple of days, a few local spots have been really good thanks to the stormy conditions creating plenty of swell to reach the little nooks and cranny's! Got a few filming sessions down with Mr B going towards the film we are working on over this winter. The teaser is going to be released in the next week or 2... working on some pretty exciting projects with some guys so keep your eyes peeled!
So plans for the Christmas period..?
Lanzarote tomorrow! Hopefully a little surf in the morning before heading out there with the family until New Years Eve. Charts are looking fun so will hopefully be getting some good waves and also some footage! We will keep you posted over the next couple of weeks!
Cheers!

Onshore Croyde...

Another fun weekend just gone. Been up in Croyde with the rest of the British squad. Fun weekend of training, pretty hideous waves! Started off the rankings for the team selection, not sure of the full rankings yet but will keep posted! Cheers to Ester Spears, Lloyd Cole and John Ellis for coaching and also Matt Knight for all the help he chucked in.
Now suffering from some hideous man flu... no surfing for a couple of days, but Lanzarote in just over a week should make up for it!

Squad training and fun waves!

So British squad training yesterday... coach Gray and Micheal Paelligrino were taking the sessions. It was mainly fitness and classroom sessions discussing technique and what is expected/needed for the British team. It was pretty cool and really beneficial and we also got a little surf at Tolcarne which was better than expected so a bonus!

Had some really fun waves today. 5.30am get up and a long drive but the rewards were worth it! 3-4ft offshore peaks, some nice English barrels. Another fun surf this afternoon at a Cornish wedge as well made it a quality day!
Was being filmed by my mate George Martin so hopefully some good clips will come out of that!

Looking forward to the teachers being on strike Wednesday which means no school and there's gonna be good waves!

2011 Contest season coming to an end...

So the 2011 contest season is pretty much over... another fun year has passed.

On the Uk Pro tour, I (Ed) finished 19th in the open, 9th in the Pro junior, 6th in the Under 16's and 13th on the Relentless Super Series (top 28 open division).
Jak placed 24th in the open, 11th in the Pro junior and 21st in the Relentless Super Series.
A fun year on the tour with the exciting new events! Cheers to Dave and the UK Pro Surf tour crew for making it run smoooothly!

So, plans for the winter?

I am in the Under 16's British squad. Training sessions over the coming months will result in the top 4 out of the 8 selected to represent Britain in the World Junior games next year in Panama.
As well as this, we are getting as much footage as possible to bang out a film over this winter with Mr B! Keep your eyes peeled for that one...
A trip to Lanza over Christmas with the family and a few little trips around the British Isles chasing swells later, next years contest season will be here!

We will keep you posted! Cheers!
